A Transition period (Louis XV/XVI) salon suite comprising a canapé and four fauteuils à la reine, the carved and gilded frames with cartouche-shaped backs and fluted legs. Each piece is covered in Aubusson tapestry woven with scenes from the Fables of La Fontaine within borders of birds, flowers and trophies on a red and green ground. The canapé back is centred by a large oval cartouche. An exceptional and complete suite for a formal salon.

Condition: Gilding and tapestry with wear consistent with age; frames sound.
