A large and impressive Italian centre table in the Régence manner. The rectangular cream marble top with moulded edge rests on a deeply carved and pierced giltwood frieze of foliate scrolls, shells and flowers, raised on cabriole legs carved with acanthus and joined by a shaped X-stretcher centred by a carved finial. Designed to stand in the middle of a hall or reception room and be admired from every side, it is a piece of real presence.

Condition: Gilding with attractive age patina and minor rubbing; marble top sound.
