A richly carved Italian giltwood console in the Louis XV manner. The rectangular top is painted to simulate green marble within a gilt border, above a deeply pierced apron of scrolling acanthus and flowers centred by a bearded mask. It stands on fluted, tapering legs headed by carved capitals and ending in scrolled feet. The gilding has a warm, burnished depth. A classic hall or drawing-room piece, made to sit beneath a mirror.

Provenance: San Luca Casa d'Aste, lot 1265, May 2025; acquired by Urnica.
Condition: Gilding with attractive age patina; minor rubbing to high points. Painted top with light wear.

Returns

Buyers in the European Union may return a piece within fourteen days of delivery without giving a reason, in the condition in which it was received; the direct cost of the return journey is borne by the buyer.
