19th Century Rococo Giltwood Two-Fold Mirrored Floor Screen

A nineteenth-century giltwood floor screen in the Louis XV style, in two folds. Each fold is divided into six mirrored panels by carved and gilded rails entwined with foliage, above a lower panel carved in relief with a basket of flowers within rocaille borders. The mirrored surfaces multiply light and give a room depth; the screen is equally effective as a decorative backdrop behind a console or dressing table.
